Corey McKernan

Drew Petrie

Bio: Tall and agile, Corey McKernan was a key player in North's premiership successes of 1996 and 1999.

One of the most athletic ruckmen in the AFL during the 90's, he tied for votes with Michael Voss and James Hird for the '96 Brownlow Medal but was ineligible due to suspension. He was at this time regarded as one of the best players in the competition.

McKernan's ability to palm the ball out of the ruck and find the football around the ground as well as drift into attack, take contested marks and have an impact in front of goal meant he was a dangerous player at North Melbourne through nine seasons and 196 games.

Bio: One of the most reliable players in the North Melbourne line-up throughout the 2000's, Drew Petrie has earned a reputation for his outstanding work-rate and ability to play all over the ground with great effectiveness.

He played much of the early part of his career in the ruck and in the forward line and was a prominent target, but he had his most consistent season in 2008 when he went into defence and showed enormous courage in repelling opposition attacks.

Forced to play in multiple positions, Petrie has carved a name as being one of the most versatile players in the competition.
