Scarlett says he will start on Hawthorn superstar and fellow All-Australian Lance Franklin in Saturday's grand final, in what is sure to be a crucial clash within the game.
"I think I'll start on Buddy, but I think a couple of the other guys will play him as well, as we've done all year," Scarlett told the Herald Sun on Thursday.
"We rotate a lot. (Andrew) Mackie started on him (Round 17) and we swapped after about five minutes.
Scarlett admitted to enjoying the pressure of the big occasion and said he rated himself by his performance on the best opposition forwards.
"You always want to play on the best players. You rate yourself on how well you do on those guys."
However, the Cats' custodian was quick to underline the even nature of the Hawthorn line-up and said Franklin was just one of a number of players Geelong had to control if it was to take out back-to-back premierships.
"They showed last week they don't need him to kick a bag to be a good side," Scarlett said.
"He's not really talked about a hell of a lot down here (Geelong); we've got to stop all their other guys as well. Mark Williams is a great player and so is (Jarryd) Roughead."
Geelong snuck home by just 11 points in the two teams' only other encounter this year in round 17, with Franklin kicking four goals that night.
But Scarlett said that result meant little.
"It's going to be totally different … Different personnel: Gaz (Ablett), (Cameron) Lingy didn't play; Dasher (Darren Milburn) wasn't there; Chappy (Paul Chapman) was injured early.
"The stakes are huge. The side that settles down the quickest and handles the situation is going to come out on top."
