The Brisbane Lions have made a surprise selection ahead of their crucial Round 11 clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium this Saturday night.

The Lions have named star utility Jared Brennan who returns ahead of schedule from an ankle injury suffered in Round 7 against Fremantle.

Brennan has missed the past three matches and was expected to miss at least one more, but he trained with the full group on Wednesday and was today given the green light to play by the Club’s medical department.

He is the only addition to the side that defeated Collingwood by eight points last week, replacing James Polkinghorne who has been ruled out with a thigh injury.

Michael Rischitelli has also been named and will line up for his 100th AFL match.
