DESPITE the build-up to the grand final replay dominating footy talk, there’s still been plenty of discussion about potential player moves with trade week beginning on Tuesday, October 5.

The Herald Sun has reported that the Demons are set to chase out-of-favour North Melbourne big man David Hale.

The 26-year-old is one of four ruckmen on the Kangaroos’ list and has frequently been mentioned as wanting to change clubs.

Melbourne already has an All Australian ruckman, Mark Jamar, but could do with some more experience on its list.

The Herald Sun also has Brisbane Lions line-breaker Justin Sherman on the move.

Sherman, 23, has been linked to the Western Bulldogs and Carlton.

The Bulldogs are on the lookout for another pacy midfielder following the departure of Jarrod Harbrow to Gold Coast.

But any clubs hoping to take top-10 draft selections away from the Suns look set to be disappointed.

"Trade week is not a major part of our (recruiting) strategy," Gold Coast chief executive Travis Auld told AAP.

"We've said before that we don't expect to be active. We'll have our phones on and we'll listen, but it's not a priority."

The Suns continue to be linked with disgruntled Brisbane Lion Jared Brennan, although the enigmatic forward seems more likely to join a Melbourne-based club.
