After playing 22 games in 2009, he was disappointed to be dropped following the round one loss to Port Adelaide, but he quickly regained his spot and continued on from his good form of last year.
McMahon was terrific in the club's Friday night football celebration in round 12, but a knee injury restricted him in the month following, forcing him to miss three games.
He had to earn his spot upon return, but finished the season strongly and was most impressive in shutting down dangerous forward Mark LeCras at Subiaco.
With his football smarts and ability to read the play, McMahon will be a regular fixture in defence for years to come, but will need to improve his consistency.
AFL.com.au’s Steve Lavell says: Seemed to carry niggles which prevented him from bettering his 2009 season. Again showed again he can play on taller and smaller forwards. Generally makes good decisions.
Highlights: Round 12 v Carlton - 23 possessions, 6 marks
Round 21 v West Coast - 17 possessions

I miss Scott when he is not in the team, I like his unassuming style he is hard at the ball and can take a good overhead mark. A good meat and three veg backline player that knows football. It's very hard to ask players to be switched "On" for ever minute of every game but if Scott did he could maybe be right up there with the best in the league.

I do rate Scotty McMahon. Has plenty of room for improvement and is already on the way up.
