FANS are running out of time to get the best seats in the house to the greatest football game of all time.

The Ticket Auction for the Hall of Fame Tribute match on May 10 closes today at 5pm.

Two hundred tickets are available for supporters who want to secure special 'Ticket with the Legends' packages.

Under the auction process fans can bid for a match package including a cocktail event with some of the stars of the past.

The package also includes:

- Pre-match finger food and refreshments
- Post-match refreshments
- Supper at half-time
- Premium wines, ales and soft drinks
- Complimentary souvenir AFL Record
- Premium reserved seating among the game's past players
- The chance to win prizes such as signed photos, match balls, team guernseys and memberships.

AFL chief commercial and broadcasting officer Gillon McLachlan said interest was growing in the game and the AFL expected a crowd in excess of 65-70,000 at the match, which is a key part of the celebrations of 150 years of Australian Football.

"This match has been 150 years in the making and will be the first time we get to see the 50 best players in the AFL playing in a match that pays tribute to the greats of the game from across Australia," McLachlan said.

"Because of the one-off nature of the game and the fact that all net proceeds from the match will go to charity, we want to maximise the return, and the auction of special ticket packages is one way of doing that. "

The AFL is also providing 100 Community Groups with the opportunity to purchase 50 standard tickets at a Community Group rate of $10 per ticket (40 per cent off the public adult ticket price).
