This weekend, the Geelong Cats and the McGrath Foundation are joining forces to wish our mothers a very happy Mother’s Day.

As part of AFL Women’s Round, Sunday’s game against the Swans at Skilled Stadium is a great opportunity to spoil our mothers who have been such a fantastic support to us over the years.

The Mother’s Day Challenge is an opportunity for mothers and their children to have some fun on the field before the game. Five mother & child teams will be selected for the challenge and will also receive four tickets to the game. The mum who wins the Mother’s Day Challenge will meet the captains, toss the coin and be treated to a deluxe Crown package. For entry details click here.

Before the game, all mums are invited to the nib relaxation station to enjoy a 3 minute massage and also go in the running for some great prizes including $50 Myer gift vouchers, tickets to the Nine Lives-Geelong No. 1 Female Ticket Holder’s Luncheon and a night at the Sheraton in Geelong. Giveaways will also be on hand from Target, Ford and the McGrath Foundation, including caps personally signed by Glenn McGrath himself. Fun for all ages can be had in the Ford Supporters Zone at the front of the Premiership Stand. We look forward to seeing you there from 11am to 1pm.

For those of you that haven’t organised a present for your mum then the Mum’s Day Cats Pack is just what you’re after. It’s the perfect gift for a Cats fan and includes a premiers polar fleece throw, a fleece lined ladies beanie, a handled travel mug, a tote bag and a McGrath Foundation wrist band. The packs are available for $50 at the Cats Shop now or on match day.

The Cats have welcomed the opportunity to partner with the McGrath Foundation who work in close partnership with Barwon Health, one of our selected charity partners. The charity was co-founded by Jane and Glenn McGrath after Jane’s initially recovery from breast cancer. As a result of Jane’s experience, the McGrath Foundation raises money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses into communities right across Australia.

In our region, the McGrath Foundation has nurses operating out of hospitals in Geelong, Colac and Warrnambool. The work they do is invaluable and our communities would be at a loss without them.

At this weeks game we encourage you to make a donation to the McGrath Foundation by purchasing a pin from the Cats Shop. Donations can also be made directly to the McGrath Foundation by visiting www.mcgrathfoundation.com.au/
