Three additions to the Richmond line-up in 2011 have figured prominently in the key statistical categories leading into the Tigers’ mid-season bye.

The stats reveal that mature-age recruits from rival league clubs, Shaun Grigg (ex-Carlton) and Bachar Houli (ex-Essendon), along with Richmond’s first pick in the 2010 AFL National Draft, Reece Conca, have well and truly justified the Club’s decision to secure their services.

Grigg features in the top 10 of the 10 main categories eight times, earning a ranking of No. 2 in marks, No. 4 in kicks, No. 4 in disposals, and No. 5 in handballs.

Houli is in six of the 10 categories, with a No. 1 ranking in marks and No. 3 in disposals, while Conca has made seven of the categories, with a best ranking of No. 4 in marks.

Dustin Martin’s eye-catching start to the 2011 season is underlined by his statistical returns so far.  Martin is the only Tiger player to feature in all 10 of the categories.  He is ranked No. 2 in kicks, No. 2 in disposals, No. 3 in inside-50 entries, No. 4 in contested possessions, No. 4 in clearances, No. 4 in rebound-50s, and No. 4 in goals.

Robin Nahas’ significant improvement this season is encapsulated in his statistical numbers.  He is listed in the top 10 of the 10 categories eight times, with a No. 3 ranking in tackles, No. 4 in handballs, and No. 5 in goals.

Nathan Foley has marked his return to league football, following a horror injury run, with some impressive numbers in the stats department, too.  Foley has seven top-10 entries in the categories, and is ranked No. 2 in handballs, No. 2 in contested possessions, No. 2 in tackles, No. 3 in clearances, and No. 5 in disposals.

Brett Deledio’s consistency shines through in his statistical returns.  He features in the top 10 of the 10 categories on nine occasions, with a No. 1 ranking in handballs, No. 1 in disposals, No. 3 in contested possessions, No. 3 in rebound-50s, and No. 4 in inside-50 entries.

Trent Cotchin is ranked No. 1 in more categories than any other Richmond player.  Cotchin is ranked No. 1 in kicks, No. 1 in contested possessions, No. 1 in clearances, and No. 1 in inside-50 entries.  All-up, he appears in the top 10 of the 10 categories nine times.

Daniel Jackson has eight entries in the 10 categories and is ranked No. 1 in tackles, No. 2 in inside-50s, No. 2 in clearances and No. 5 in contested possessions.
