I had a fair bit going on during the bye weekend. We were all able to go home for a few days so I went off to Perth and then to Bunbury.

If you see me playing this weekend at ANZ Stadium, you might notice I’ve had a bit of a haircut. That was from my girlfriend, Jessica, who’s a great hair cutter. It only took her five minutes and I’m pretty happy with it.

She works at a place in Perth so I went and hung out there with her for a couple of days, and then Mum and Dad drove up from Bunbury to pick me up. They got lost getting into Perth and almost ended up in Brookton, but eventually they got there.

On the way down I remembered I’d left five pairs of jeans at Jess’s house. That wasn’t good, so I had to go and get some more when we got home to Bunbury.

I went to Jay Jay’s in Bunbury and found some white jeans that I really liked. They said $39.99 on the tag, but when I got to the counter and they scanned them, they were only $4.99. I was happy with that.

Then I went to another place to get some shoes. I found these red slip-ons, and they were only five bucks. So I was dressed in red and white, jeans and shoes, for only 10 bucks. You can’t do that in Sydney!

It wasn’t all about fashion though. I went to watch some footy. Went to see my brother Graham play for Swan Districts, and they beat South Freo. Graham was good, he got 24 possessions and he’s had a few games in a row like that.

The whole family and Jess’s mum had dinner on Friday night at Chinatown in Bunbury, and then when we got home there was a surprise 21st birthday party for me!

All my uncles and aunties and cousins and friends were there. My birthday was back on May 4, but I was in Sydney then, so it was great to have a party with my family.

I did sleep a fair bit too while I was home. I was quite tired from the first half of the season. I’ve played 11 senior games in my first year at the Swans, so I’m pretty pleased with how I’ve been going and looking forward to getting back into it.
