The Adelaide Football Club’s official website afc.com.au is one of the first club sites in the AFL network to launch its new look for 2008.

Already one of the busiest AFL content sites in Australia, afc.com.au hopes the latest changes – and other changes soon to be implemented – will help us deliver a far better service to our thousands of fans in Australia and across the world.

Increased speed, navigation and accessibility have been high priorities during the AFL network’s redesign process.

The Club’s new home page should provide better access to a range of news, features, video, photos and information

The revamped news section provides quick links to the latest news stories from the club and links to video, photos and extra information. This high traffic section is where you can first read the club’s media releases and announcements or catch up on other news stories and match articles from a variety of sources.

The image cycler (to the left below the masthead) will promote a range of content on the club site, from features and analysis through to picture galleries, blogs, club events and competitions.

Channel Crow, launched last year, averaged 100,000 streams of on-demand video per month last season and will continue to show press conferences, training, interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. There is also access to a huge range of video from right across the AFL network - match and round highlights, news, features and panel shows.

The new layout provides easier access to game information through a home page module, pulling together links to ticket information, broadcast times, previews, weather, game day live and the teams.

And this season afc.com.au will take the delivery of player and team stats to a new, richer level. Look out for the interactive premiership ladder.

Other new home page improvements include an events calendar, quick links to club information and promotions, simple drop-down lists on the main menu bar and links to the improved player profile section.

The RAA Insurance Crows Tipping competition will also return in 2008, as will the afc.com.au Player of the Year award.

And there will be plenty of opportunities for Crows supporters to have their say through blogs and polls.

The build, testing and launch of the new websites is a huge task so please be patient with the site in this launch period. The club is confident the final product will be a faster, more reliable site providing our supporters with a better online experience.
