MIDFIELDER Daniel Harris has vowed theKangaroos will “stick together” as they come to terms with their disappointing66-point loss to the West Coast Eagles.

Harris backed coach Dean Laidley’s callthat the Kangaroos had not worked hard enough to win the game, and says that’swhere the side can turn it around.

Laidley was blunt in his assessment thathis side’s midfield had gone missing against the best unit in the competition.

“You need your midfield to get the ball andour midfield didn’t,” Laidley said after the game.

“We’re a hard working side, we didn’t workhard today. A lot of guys were down and that was because of the way the Eagleswent about it and full credit to them.”

Harris was one of several Kangaroos to havea bad day, managing just seven possessions and two tackles, well down on his seasonaverage to date of 21 possessions and 5 tackles.

The Eagles midfield simply swamped theKangaroos with both weight and quality of possessions. Harris faced animpossible task coming off the bench to try to stem the flow and ultimatelyfound himself moved into attack in the second half to try to spark a forwardline which had been smothered by a ruthlessly efficient Eagles defence.

Harris says the Eagles are the benchmark ofthe competition and the Kangaroos will learn from the loss.

“It’s obviously disappointing. We came overhere to win. And we gave ourselves a shot at half time and you know they justshowed us how hard to work.

“They’re the premiers, that’s where it’s atand that’s where we’ve got to get to.”

Harris says the Kangaroos stayed positivethroughout the game, clawing back to within 18 points at the final break andbelieving they could go on with it.

“It was very positive. The boys were up andabout. But once again, we just didn’t work hard enough and left it to too fewand you can’t do that against such a quality team.”

Harris says the Kangaroos will keep itsimple as they prepare for next weekend’s clash against St Kilda. He believesthey will bounce back strongly.

“We stick together, that’s what we do. Weget focused on next week… and stick [together].”
