FAST FOOTY FACTS
Eight Lions players - Jared Polec, Patrick Karnezis, Ryan Lester, Bryce Retzlaff, Mitch Golby, Josh Green, Rohan Bewick and Broc McCauley - had their first official outing with the Club last Friday night against Essendon and St Kilda.

A Lions Legends team consisting of Chris Johnson, Mal Michael, Martin Pike, Richard Osborne, Darren 'Doc' Wheildon, Darren Kappler, Jason Baldwin, Chris Polidoras and Craig Huggins defeated Essendon and St Kilda last Friday night.

Former Lions Club Champion Runner-Up Justin Sherman was traded to the Western Bulldogs during last year's AFL Trade Period. Sherman played 114 games and kicked 85 goals in six seasons with the Lions from 2005-2010.

The Lions' most recent match at Visy Park was abandoned due to extreme weather conditions. The Lions were scheduled to face Geelong during the final week of last year's NAB Challenge series but that match was called off after a severe Melbourne storm hit only 20 minutes before the start of the game.
