Voss is in the third and final year of his contract, and despite the gloom of losing to new neighbours Gold Coast at the weekend, said his vision had not wavered.
After making some tough off-season decisions - including the termination of contracts for Brendan Fevola and Albert Proud - Voss said the club had decided to develop its youth and that's what they would stick with.
"We're not changing anything, that’s where we're going, that's what we're doing, and results go for us or they don’t go for us and we're not changing it," he said.
"I think we've always viewed it as a growth phase. As a match committee we've picked that way. We've had five or six debutants and I think we're backing up where we're going.
"But what we do expect is a level of intent across the group and we're not getting that … but we're going to have a period of time where we've also got to build the group."
Ahead of the club's clash against Essendon at the Gabba on Saturday night, Voss was steadfast as he fronted a large media contingent with vice-captain Jed Adcock.
He was confident and shied away from nothing.
After losing 21 of its past 24 matches under his guidance, Voss said the club had never been collectively so firm on its direction in his time.
"That's what I've been so impressed with and that's why I have so much belief in these boys that they will get through it, because they absolutely have my wholehearted belief," he said.
"Last year certainly we gave games away easily and we've got to hold on to that, we must.
"We're going to play these players and they'll get better. Where we're going to be successful is making sure we get these players through and we're committed to that plan.
"We're not just going to go out there and flippantly play everyone just because they've got an age profile between 18 and 21. We have to teach these players what's required to play AFL football and that's non-negotiable."
Voss added he did not feel any pressure and that he had a great group he would love to coach into the future despite his disappointment with their performance against the Suns.
"Over the course of the season we've been thereabouts, but we weren't on the weekend," Voss said.
"We don't accept the performances across the year, not just the weekend.
"We still never accept mediocrity."
