COLLINGWOOD captain Scott Burns will not line up for his 250th AFL game when the Magpies meet Carlton at the MCG on Sunday.

Burns pulled up with calf soreness following a training session on Saturday morning and has withdrawn from the team.

It's a bitter blow for the onballer, who was poised to become the 11th player in Collingwood's history to play 250 games for the club.

Collingwood is yet to confirm who will replace Burns in the 22, however, vice-captain Josh Fraser will lead the side as it looks for its third win from four games.
