AFTER a tumultuous week, Fremantle coach Mark Harvey desperately wants to focus on playing Melbourne on Sunday.
With Fremantle's aggressive play against Geelong earning the ire of much of the football world, the club is feeling the heat.
Harvey, though, is looking to rebound with a win against Melbourne at Subiaco Oval and could use the horror last quarter against them last time to help get his players ready for the contest.
"It's an interesting game on the back of what happened during the last game. I think we've learned a lot from last time we played Melbourne," Harvey said.
"There are some areas we need to focus on and both sides are depleted from an injury aspect, hence we've found ourselves in this situation where we're not playing in a finals scenario at the end of the year.
"I showed before last week's game the first quarter we played against Geelong the previous time, sometimes you go back and revisit that. So we might show them the last quarter against Melbourne as well when we gave them a win."
With Dean Solomon out suspended and Roger Hayden still nursing a hamstring injury, Shaun McManus should return after 35 possessions for East Fremantle last week, while Des Headland could return from a knee injury in the WAFL for Subiaco with Luke Webster making terrific progress from a knee as well.
"Shaun played well last week, Dean Solomon goes out and Shaun's a guy we'd look at to replace him. Luke played really well (for East Perth last week) and if he continues that form we will look at him soon," he said.
"It's great to see what he's doing. Amazing operation, amazing courage and there'll be an opportunity for Luke in the coming weeks."
Ryan Crowley escaped suspension after initially being offered a week from the Match Review Panel and Harvey could use the quality tagger on Cameron Bruce on Sunday.
"Ryan Crowley has got a fantastic demeanour about him. He plays in the spirit of the game and he gets challenged a lot from the opposition and he stands up and they're the sort of guys that you look for. He's done some fantastic jobs this year, it's a real credit to him," he said.
"He copped it from all angles last week, whether it was walking up or down the boundary line having a rest and drinking water, some of the things that have come out are quite humorous actually but he's up for the challenge again and sometimes, there are unsung heroes in your side and he's been one of them."
