The St Kilda Football Club would like to congratulate Mark Lanagan of Lyndhurst on his winning entry for the Trevor Barker Award Competition.
Mark, accompanied by his partner Louise, will be attending the Saints night of nights thanks to his clever limerick suggesting that Stephen Milne will take the coveted award at the 2011 Best and Fairest to be held this Saturday night.
The limerick competition attracted approximately three hundred entries with the winner chosen by a selection panel at the St Kilda Football Club.
The Club asked fans to answer in 25 words or less who will win the prestigious Trevor Barker Award on Saturday night and entries included poems, limericks, stats and quotes.
Mark decided to enter a limerick about Stephen Milne, and was as follows:
Stephen Milne should take home “Trevor”,
For being the best small forward ever!
With crafty crumbing and skilful snapping,
He always gets Saints fans clapping!
The Saints were overwhelmed and overjoyed with the response the competition received and found it very difficult to pick just one winner.
