With only three days remaining in March the North Melbourne Football Club is well on track to break its record for memberships sold in a month.
The Roos' membership department has been sent into overdrive in recent weeks with almost 5000 people already showing their commitment to be part of the journey in 2010.
North Melbourne Chief Executive Officer Eugene Arocca says while the influx of new members is exciting, the club is hoping even more will jump on board in the coming days.
"I am very confident that our supporters will sign up in big numbers before the end of March. I'm urging all die-hard North Melbourne fans to help us break the record," Arocca said.
"With our first match in Melbourne this week, now is the time to sign up and ensure you get the best value from your membership. I'm asking all of our members to make March a month to remember. We are striving for 6000 members for the month."
An inexperienced North Melbourne team fought hard in the second half against Port on Sunday but fell agonizingly short of a memorable win.
Supporters were given a glimpse of the future with debutant Ryan Bastinac and youngsters Jack Ziebell and Liam Anthony among the best players.
“Now more than ever, we can see an exciting future for this club - we have a fine young team with a smart new coach," Arocca added.
The club's membership figure is tracking similarly to last year having just ticked over 23,500, but Arocca has repeated his call to the 'great North people' who haven't joined with over 8000 from last year yet to renew.
"Everyone from the State Government to the AFL is commending the club for its off-field achievements and in particular the creation of our state-of-the-art facility with never before seen community engagement through the Learning and Life Centre. We have all the ingredients for an exciting period in our history."
