PREMIERSHIP players Mathew Stokes and David Wojcinski have been dropped by Geelong with the expanded squads for Sunday's match trimmed on Friday evening.

Fremantle settled on two changes for the clash with the Cats at Subiaco with Brett Peake joining Josh Head as a casualty from the side defeated by Port Adelaide last time out.

Antoni Grover and Luke McPharlin have both earned recalls while Clayton Hinkley and Tim Ruffles, who were included in the initial squad, drop back to the emergency list with Peake.

Harry Taylor and Joel Corey went straight into Geelong's starting 18 on Thursday, but a further two changes were made with Max Rooke and David Johnson forcing their way into the side.

Simon Hogan was the other player included in the initial 25-man squad, but he remains on standby with Stokes and Wojcinski.

On Thursday night, Tom Lonergan and Nathan Djerrkura were omitted from the side that defeated West Coast.

After recording a season-high 24 touches in the round eight win over North Melbourne, Wojcinski's form has tapered with his 14-disposal effort against the Eagles the last straw for Mark Thompson.

Stokes, 24, also gathered 14 possessions against West Coast and kicked one goal.
