WESTCOAST Eagles draftee Scott Selwood admits he will enter the AFL with moreexpectation than most other first-year players but says he won't get weigheddown by any extra hype.
Selwood,the youngest of the four Selwood brothers now listed to AFL clubs, joinedbrother Adam at the Eagles when the 2006 premiers selected him with pick 22 inNovember's NAB AFL Draft.
Atjust 17, he was among the youngest players picked in last year's draft.
TheSelwoods are among the most successful footballing families in the competitionat present.
TroySelwood has been a regular starter at Brisbane in recent seasons while19-year-old Joel shot the family name to prominence last year when he won theNAB AFL Rising Star award for Geelong in the Cats' all-conquering season.
So,has his brothers' exploits made him feel like he has much to live up to at AFLlevel?
"No,not really," the mature youngster said. "There's a bit of hype thereI guess but I'll just go out there, do my own thing and try to make the most ofmy own opportunities.
"HopefullyI can live up to the expectations and hopefully fulfil my [own] dreams."
Whenasked whether he might be able to come close to brother Joel's form in hisdebut season, Selwood replied: "He's a lot more developed than I was atthis age and I still have a lot more learning to do than him," Selwoodsaid.
"SoI think I'll take a little bit longer than Joel took because Joel was pretty muchstraight into it."
Selwoodsaid he had relished his early days in the west, saying he was rapt to be anEagle and among such "terrific blokes".
