The session featured a group of the Swans first-to-third year players, with development coaches Stuart Maxfield and Henry Playfair watching on closely.

A group of teammates, including Dan Hannebery, were on hand to encourage the boxing group through the gruelling 40-minute session, as they endured a nearby cycling class.

“It was a pretty solid session, we want to get them straight into it” said Swans development coach Henry Playfair.

“The quicker we get them up to speed on their fitness the better.”

Several of the players will join a 15-man squad at the Kurnell sand dunes tomorrow, a test of both aerobic and mental strength..

“Boxing’s not too taxing on the legs. You can really give a good cardio workout without too much load on their legs, so they should be fine for tomorrow,” said Playfair.
