The Saints have added four players, including as debutant, to the squad that demolished Essendon by 108 points last weekend to jump into fourth spot and secure a clash against the reigning premiers this Sunday.

Jack Stevens, the 18-year old schoolboy could pull on a Saints guernsey for the first time if picked in the final squad for Sunday's game against the Cats, making his debut on one of the biggest stages imaginable. He is joined in the side by Andrew McQualter, David Armitage and Xavier Clarke who have all earned call ups.

Matthew Drain, GM of Football Operations at the Saints said, ““Xavier returns to the side after several months of strong training following injury, Armitage is back after a positive spell at Casey and McQualter has been picked since he withdrew from the Adelaide with a virus a fortnight ago.”

“Sean Dempster was incredible unlucky to go down with a season ending knee injury in the opening minutes of last weekend’s game but we are lucky to be able to call up a number of quality players who can fill the void. Luke Ball will be rested for another week but we’re confident he’ll return to the side for the next round of the finals.”

The Saints play Geelong in the First Qualifying Final at the MCG on Sunday from 2:40pm. The winner claims a berth in the Preliminary Final while the loser will face the winner of Collingwood and Adelaide next week at the MCG.
