Sheryl Ward has been a junior football volunteer for more than 20 years.
She first became involved in community football as a volunteer with South Coogee Junior Football Club. Sheryl organised sausage sizzles, helped in the canteen and later joined the committee as treasurer at the club.
Sheryl also spent seven years on the Fremantle Coastal Regional Junior Football Council and three years as District Football Development Council Secretary for the South Fremantle District.
For the past 10 years her role on the council has involved organising events in conjunction with the Fremantle Dockers, assisting with coordinating match days and finals, attending the tribunal on hearing nights and arranging all trophy and shield events.
In 2006 Sheryl was recognised as the WA Football Commission Volunteer of the Year.
On top of all this, Sheryl still manages to attend a junior game each weekend.
