PORT Adelaide’s Shaun Burgoyne and Hawthorn’s Ben McGlynn will contest their rough conduct charges at the AFL Tribunal tonight.

Both players were offered three-match suspensions by the Match Review Panel after Saturday’s match between the Power and the Hawks, and face four-match bans if their appeals are unsuccessful.

Burgoyne faces a Level Three rough-conduct offence against Hawthorn skipper Sam Mitchell.

The first-quarter incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), high impact (three points) and high contact (two points), drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has 93.75 points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 418.75 points and a four-match sanction.

McGlynn also has been charged with a Level Three rough-conduct offence. His was for an incident with Port Adelaide’s Kane Cornes during the first quarter of the Aurora Stadium match.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points), drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has 93.75 points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 418.75 points and a four-match sanction.

In other news, Hawthorn’s Shane Crawford has accepted a one-match sanction for striking Port Adelaide’s Dean Brogan.

West Coast’s Matt Rosa has accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record for striking North Melbourne’s Matt Campbell during the third quarter of the match at Carrara.     

Essendon’s Kyle Reimers has accepted a $1950 fine for making negligent contact with umpire Michael Avon during the last quarter of the match against the Sydney Swans.

And Fremantle’s Dean Solomon ($1800) and Western Bulldog Tom Williams ($900) have accepted fines for wrestling during the first quarter of the match at Subiaco on Sunday.
