Daniel Rich: I’m here with Brendan Fevola - Coleman Medallist, All-Australian and legend of AFL footy…

Firstly Brendan, how are you going?

Brendan Fevola: Good thank you Daniel - Rising Star.

DR: How are you enjoying your new life in Brisbane?

BF: It’s been a great experience so far. It’s been very hot, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.

The boys have been great and I’ve had you over for dinner a couple of times. You ate me out of my house.

DR: I did mate, it was good tucker.

If you didn’t know Brendan Fevola, how would you want to be known?

BF: (Laughs) What? Who made that question up?

That’s the worst question I’ve ever heard.

DR: Just answer it.

BF: How would I want to be known?

As a person who likes to have fun, enjoys time with his mates and is good company to have around.

DR: That’s how you’re already known I think…

You often talk about your love of American sport. Who is your favourite NFL and NHL team and player?

BF: My favourite team in the NHL is the Detroit Red Wings and my favourite player was Wayne Gretzky.

My favourite team in the NFL was the Green Bay Packers - but I’ve decided to follow Brett Favre around because he’s my favourite player.

DR: Who does he play for?

BF: He plays for the Minnesota Vikings now.

He’s their quarterback. He's over 40 years old and still throwing the ball around.

DR: If you played for the Minnesota Vikings, what position would you play and why?

BF: I could play in many positions.

I could play as a wide receiver because of my extreme pace or I could be a punter.

All punters do is get off the bench, kick the ball, go back on the bench and don’t run. That’s pretty much me in a nutshell (laughs).

DR: You recently had another addition to the family with baby Lulu. Will she be as beautiful as her dad?

BF: I hope so (laughs).

DR: What position did you play as a youngster growing up?

BF: I think you’re running late for an appointment mate, there’s a strike against your name.

To answer your question, I played mainly in the ruck, centre-half forward and full-forward.

DR: What was the most amount of goals you kicked in the one game?

BF: I kicked 24 goals in the one game.

DR: How are your new housemates treating you and who does most of the cooking besides Troy Selwood’s missus?

BF: I’ve been living with Brent Staker and Troy Selwood (Bunno). They’re both great guys and we all get along really well.

I do most of the cooking when Bunno’s missus isn’t around. Troy gives absolutely nothing to the kitchen. All he does is sit down and watch ESPN.

There isn’t too much communication gong on in the household, but it’s a fun house.

DR: If you weren’t an AFL footballer, what would you be?

BF: I would probably be in Milan walking down the catwalks doing some modelling I would have thought (laughs).

DR: Not a bad gig…

Why do you hate the boys going in the plunge pool in their undies?

BF: I just don’t get why blokes shower in their jocks.

When you’re at home do you shower in your jocks?

DR: This isn’t about me…

BF: Answer the question.

DR: Of course not.

BF: See, there you go.

DR: But what about when plunging?

BF: Mate, you don’t need to be wearing jocks when you’re plunging. Don’t be scared.

DR: Fair call...

Finally, how would you describe Brendan Fevola in one word?

BF: Ummm… outgoing.

DR: Thanks mate.

BF: Thank you Daniel Rich Rising Star. You’ve been playing really good footy of late so keep up the good work.

If you need any help with your interviewing techniques, don't be afraid to come and speak to me…

DR: Cheers
