The Bombers pulled themselves together after 3 losses and a sluggish first half against the Tigers to kick 17 goals to 4 goals in a great second half of footy. The 78 point victory was all about respect for Hird in his 200th game and it has got the Bombers back on track for the finals.

It was a game of 2 halves. The Bombers were lucky to be so close to the Tigers after the first half, but the team that came out after the break exploded in the second half, winning the ball out of the centre and providing the forwards with plenty of opportunities. Matthew Lloyd was fantastic and kicked 9 goals for the match.

Unfortunately, there were injuries to both Hird and Lucas. The Bombers will be hoping for a fast recover. Wellman (hamstring), Rioli (hamstring) and Fletcher (suspension) all missed the game, and Bolton was a late withdrawal from the team with hamstring soreness.

There were several key performances in the win. Richards was switched to centre half back and played a great game. Maybe he is better suited as a defender rather than up forward. McPhee was a target at centre half forward, MJ and JJ lifted in the middle, and Rama and McVeigh were running well off the half back. Let's just hope the form of these players continues into next week with the game in Perth against the Eagles.
