Residents of the North Richmond Housing Estate received a gift from Richmond Football Club today – just in time for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Richmond CEO Steven Wright, Victorian Minister for Housing Richard Wynne and Tigers’ young gun Jack Riewoldt hand delivered a brand new wide screen television to residents of the estate, sourced from Dick Smith Electronics.

The television was installed today, ready for residents to catch the opening ceremony of the games, and Richmond’s charge toward the 2008 finals.

Richmond’s association with North Richmond Housing Estate is just one area of the Tigers in the Community Foundation (TICF), a not-for-profit charitable organisation which provides a range of services and community based activities to the inner Melbourne region.

TICF’s mission is to provide health, social and cultural programs which improve the quality of life and develop skills of local community residents, many with multicultural backgrounds.

A number of Richmond players have donated much of their time in assisting the TICF program over the last few years.
