NOT LONG after producing some of the best football of his career, Western Bulldogs vice-captain Daniel Giansiracusa has re-signed with the club.
Giansiracusa produced an outstanding year in 2011, finishing with a career-best 45 goals in a season where he also reached the 200 game milestone.
Giansiracusa said although the season had its disappointments - the Dogs finished 10th on the ladder - he was pleased with his form and was excited to re-sign.
"It was a slow start to the year with a few niggles… I found a way to get into some reasonable form including a patch there which was probably the best footy I played in my career," he said.
"I'm thrilled to have been given the opportunity to continue my career at a club I love and have spent the past 12 years at… I'm looking forward to seeing our group rebound next season and to see our great young talent continually improve.
"It's an exciting time."
The length of Giansiracusa's new contract has not been released.
