The LeasePlan Western Bulldogs will field a strong line up for tomorrow night’s Round 2 match against Essendon despite resting several players.

Several players will be rested due to injuries following community camp and round 1 in Darwin, but Senior Coach Rodney Eade is happy with the list available.

“Ryan Griffen won’t play due to family reasons and I am not prepared to risk a couple of players if they are still recovering from injuries suffered last week. On a positive note youngster Paul O’Shea will get his first run and Jarrad Grant has proved himself to be a potential starter as well.”

Farren Ray looks set to miss at least a month of football, after leaving TIO Stadium last Friday on crutches following a lower leg injury.
"He's had a big pre-season, and I thought his form in Darwin was encouraging," Eade said.
"I suppose the pleasing thing is that it is the fibula, so hopefully it's only four or five weeks. They're saying four to six, but it is the non-weight bearing bone.
"So, hopefully he can make a good recovery."
