The 26-year-old was charged with a level-three striking offence as the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points), giving a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a level three offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction.
However, due to it being the grand final, double demerit points were applied to the base rate, increasing the total from 225 to 450, but Schneider's five-year good behaviour record gave him a 25 per cent reduction.
The penalty was reduced by a further 25 per cent due to Schneider's early guilty plea, reducing the penalty to 295.31 points. This results in a two-week suspension and 95.31 carryover points, which will be added to any future penalty.
St Kilda was granted an extension of time to consider their decision due to yesterday being the opening day of trade week.
