FOUR-TIME premiership coach Kevin Sheedy has revealed he will be standing down as president of the AFL Coaches Association to concentrate on his developing team Greater Western Sydney.

An official announcement has not been made but Sheedy told The Age he won't be president in 2011 and meetings had already taken place about his replacement.

''I think that job should be there for three or four years and should be rolled over like we do with the International Rules coach," Sheedy said.

''I will possibly move back on to the executive now. Where we have come from in the last seven or eight years, it's been absolutely fantastic.''

Sheedy, 63, said he did not think his replacement would be a current coach and it did not have to be a past coach. ''It  just has to be the right person,'' he said.

However, former Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos, who is an AFLCA executive, is likely to be considered.

''There will probably be an announcement in the next month,'' Sheedy said.
