GREATER Western Sydney has suffered a massive blow ahead of its derby clash with the Swans after Jeremy Cameron was a late withdrawal with hamstring soreness.
As reported by AFL.com.au Cameron failed to train with his teammates at Spotless Stadium on Wednesday, but GWS officials were extremely confident that the star forward would be fit to play.
Tendai Mzungu has replaced Cameron in the team and will start on the ground at the opening bounce.
Cameron was second in the Coleman Medal race with 41 goals heading into round 17, and his absence robs the match of an exciting head-to-head battle with Sydney superstar Lance Franklin.
The 24-year-old kicked 2.4 from 24 possessions and took nine marks when the Giants beat the Swans by 42 points at the SCG in round five, and leaves a huge hole in his team's forward line.
The return of club champion Toby Greene and Steve Johnson will help offset the loss of Cameron, but more responsibility will now fall to in-form big man Jonathon Patton, who has kicked 13 goals in his past three matches.
