Early voting in the 2010 federal election has commenced for voters unable to vote on election day, Saturday 21 August, with players and staff at the Hawthorn Football Club taking advantage of the process ahead of this weekend’s trip to Tasmania to take on Fremantle.

Led by veteran players Brad Sewell, Campbell Brown and Jarry Roughead, the squad will go through their paces at an AEC pre-polling centre in Mulgrave this afternoon.

Hawks fans planning on attending the big game against Fremantle at Aurora Stadium are eligible for an early vote and can find more information by visiting the AEC website www.aec.gov.au or phone 13 23 26.

"Visiting an early voting centre is the easiest way to cast your early vote, but if any voter is unable to get to an early voting centre, or a polling place on election day, they should apply immediately for a postal vote," says Jenni McMullan - AEC State Manager Victoria.

Hawks hard-nut Campbell Brown says, "It’s really important that every Australian has their say in the election and early voting gives those of us who’ll be interstate on election day the perfect opportunity to get the job done before we leave and focus on this weekend’s must win clash against the Dockers."

Further information is available about casting an early vote, visit www.aec.gov.au or call the AEC on 13 23 26.
