Geelong has accepted suspensions for James Podsiadly (2 weeks) and Josh Hunt (1 week) handed down by the match review panel.
Podsiadly was charged with a level two bumping or making forceful contact from front-on offence against Bryce Gibbs.
The incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points).
This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 250 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has 60 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 310 points and a three-match sanction. The early plea reduced the sanction by 25 per cent to 232.50 points and a two-match sanction.
Hunt was charged with a level two engaging in rough conduct offence against Jarrad Waite.
Hunt tackled Waite, who dropped the ball. Hunt’s action in tackling the Carlton player amazingly has led to the charge.
