WESTERN Bulldogs skipper Matthew Boyd was the star Toyota AFL Dream Team point-scorer in the NAB Cup clash between the Dogs and Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday.

Boyd's 36-possession performance equated to a game-high 129 points.

A number of the Bulldogs' other midfielders also amassed some impressive tallies.

Daniel Cross racked up 117 points, while Shaun Higgins (96) and Liam Picken (95) almost cracked a century.

Of the Dream Team dark horses, former Bendigo Bomber Tory Dickson, who was a third-round selection in last year's NAB AFL Draft, amassed 89 points after picking up 15 possessions, laying six tackles and kicking a goal.

Second-year midfielder Tom Liberatore showed that he is worth a look by gathering 23 touches, which earned him 78 points.

Triple premiership player Paul Chapman was the best of the Geelong players, gathering 29 touches, booting a goal and earning 113 points.

Another three-time flag winner, James Kelly, picked up 25 possessions and 101 points.

Other Cats to amass decent tallies were Andrew Mackie (91), Joel Corey (89) and Jimmy Bartel (86).

Further down the Geelong stats sheet were a couple of young players who are definitely worth keeping an eye on.
