COLLINGWOOD midfielder Tarkyn Lockyer is confident the Magpies have recovered well from the heat of their Adelaide visit and are ready to back up against St Kilda this weekend.
Saturday's clash with the Crows was played under blinding sunlight and in conditions better suited to pre-season practice matches, with the Magpies using wet towels and the Crows ice vests during the breaks to cope with the 22 degree weather.
But Lockyer said the Pies were feeling no different this week despite the sudden change in playing conditions.
"The guys are feeling great, ready to attack training tomorrow," he said at the club's weekly recovery session at the St Kilda Sea Baths on Tuesday.
"The boys have pulled up well, and I think if anyone was sore they wouldn't tell anyone anyway because you would play with a broken leg in finals footy.
"We're certainly in a pretty good position where we've got a lot of options to choose from as far as selection is concerned."
Lockyer said skipper Scott Burns was a strong chance to return after getting through the Pies' first training session for the week on Monday.
"He should be good. He had a hit-out yesterday and we've got another training session tomorrow so he'll have another run around and I'm sure he'll be ready to go," Lockyer said.
"He's more than happy to put his hand up."
He also said defender Simon Prestigiacomo was likely to be available despite tweaking his shoulder against the Crows.
"I daresay Presti's shoulder is a bit sore but he played out the game and he's fine, so he'll definitely put his hand up for selection again this week."
