FOOTY is back and that means it's time to focus on what really matters – NAB AFL Tipping. Thousands of fans right around the country have signed up, and so have a stack of our own celebrity tipsters.

Brownlow medallists Nathan Buckley and Robert DiPierdomenico and fellow former greats Garry Lyon and Jason McCartney head the list of those vying for the title of NAB AFL Tipping's premier pundit.

Of today's current crop of stars, it'll be former NAB Rising Star Joel Selwood who will look to stand tall in this hottest of hotly contested competitions while basketball icon Andrew Gaze and Olympic legend Raelene Boyle will fly the flag for athletes from a non-football sphere.

Andrew Demetriou and Adrian Anderson represent the pride of AFL HQ. Senior coaches past – Danny Frawley; present – Terry Wallace, Mark Williams and Rodney Eade; and in-waiting – Guy McKenna, will show how much they know outside the comparative calm of the coaches box.

Rounding out the field are former premiership stars and expert columnists Leigh Matthews and Wayne Schwass, and afl.com.au’s own Matt Burgan.

If you haven't already registered, time is short – and there’s plenty to play for. Not only will you be able to compare your own tipping know-how against the cream of the expert tipping crop, you'll also be in the running to share in $45,000 worth of prizes.

Take out the NAB AFL Tipping 2009 crown and you’ll pocket a cool $20,000 NAB iSaver account.

The runner-up will receive a Sony Playstation® 3 and PlayStation AFL Prize Pack valued at $729.95. Tippers finishing from third spot right down to 10th in the overall comp will each take home a Sony PlayStation Portable® and PlayStation AFL Prize Pack, valued at $295.95.

Of course, the end-of-season booty isn’t the only thing worth fighting for. Weekly prizes of $500 are up for grabs for the leading tipper in each round.

There are also two great new competitions – the Plus 5 club and Wipeout – each worth $5000 to the ultimate winner.

May the best (celebrity) tipper win!
