We've followed HFC since 1936 when taken to Glenferrie Oval with our two sets of parents.  Our parents followed the Mayblooms playing in Victoria Road Auburn, Close to Ted Rippon's Hotel, before joining the VFL in 1925.   All those early years we (HFC) were known as the punching bags of the League and took rough treatment from the Clubs who started the whole game.  Hasn't all that changed!

Keith and I didn't know each other then but met later at the Hawthorn Town Hall Dances.  He lived in Camberwell and I lived in Auburn.  We have been happily married now for 55 years, still at the same address, and in our late seventies.

Over the years we have attended many grand finals, pre bookings, and stood in huge crowds trying to get good seats.  The 1961, 1983, 1988 and 1989 grand finals stand out in our minds, the 1983 game was the cause of our tiff with Essendon FC, having beaten them by nearly 100 points!   Same with Geelong in 1989, that game still being referred to today.     2008 was a wonderful surprise to everyone, we were there! We've seen some wonderful players in all Clubs over those years and will be seeing plenty more in future.
