Geelong star Joel Selwood believes that Saint Farren Ray did nothing wrong in the incident that led Selwood to being carried off on a stretcher.

Selwood took to twitter to thank those that had sent him messages

“Hey thanks for all the msgs, I'm all good 14 stitches in the mouth, it was all fair play by Farren Ray! Great win Cats! Thanks for all the msgs, a huge thanks to the doc for babysitting me over night, I agree, I look terrible but feel good! Great fighting spirit from the boys last night! Boris played his 200th, and Chris and Cameron's first game for the club! #gocats,” Selwood tweeted.

Selwood knocked the ball forward before Ray’s hip knocked him out. The game was stopped for over six minutes as Selwood was stabilized, placed on a stretcher and fitted with an oxygen mask.

He was taken to hospital and was cleared of significant damage. Selwood returned to the MCG and joined his teammates in the rooms to celebrate the Cats thrilling one point win over St Kilda.
