Swans debutant Nathan Gordon capped off a busy weekend by being awarded the round seven SwansTV Play of the Day.
With the Bulldogs breathing down the neck of the leading Swans in the tight final term, Gordon picked up a loose ball following an Andrejs Everitt smothered shot at goal.
Showing great composure for a first-gamer, Gordon found a pocket of space with a backward step, and dribbled through his first AFL goal under pressure from Bulldogs defenders Tom Williams and Josh Hill.
Gordon’s goal was the Swans only major of the final quarter and stemmed the tide after the Bulldogs’ Daniel Giansiracusa had kicked the first two goals in the opening minutes of the quarter.
Both of Mike Pyke’s goals were in contention for the Play of the Day, as was the team effort leading up to Jarrad McVeigh’s decisive running goal in the third quarter - while Tadhg Kennelly started his own SwansTV segment with his Gaelic kick in the final term.
