The Sydney Swans players were handed their 2007 guernsey's on Monday at an inspiring and entertaining night at the Town Hall.

The Australian Youth Choir set the tone for the night with an emotional rendition of the Club Song before MC Adam Spencer took to the stage in his typical witty and passionate fashion to stir up the 530 guests.

Leo Barry welcomed everyone to the event before fellow co-captain Barry Hall spoke to the new players and their family members about the honour of receiving the guernsey on such an occasion.

Chairman Richard Colless made the traditional official toast to the Club and players before a video presentation of season 2006.

After the main course Spencer chatted with coach Paul Roos about the upcoming season and before too long you could feel the excitement around the room.

Roos welcomed his new coaching team to help introduce the players - John Longmire, John Blakey, Peter Berbakov and Brett Allison (rookies and AFL Scholarship holder Craig Bird) - while Swans Team of the Century players Dennis Carroll and Barry Round handed out the guernsey's.

New recruit Peter Everitt received an overwhelming response as he received his number ten while Barry Hall and Adam Goodes were also very warmly received.

With the players all on stage co-captain Brett Kirk took to the microphone and spoke from the heart about the Swans culture and what it means to be part of the Red and White family.

As the crowd felt the goose bumps from Kirk's powerful speech the players and coaches all returned to their seats with another rousing performance of Cheer, Cheer.

Everyone left the intimate evening fired up for 2007, knowing the Swans remain united to be the best on and off the field.
