Saints star midfielder Nick Dal Santo was the Ambassador for the 2011 Arthurs Seat Challenge on Sunday 6 November.
Dal Santo, whose future sister-in-law, Sarah Klein, was the winning female in the 6.7km gruelling run from Rosebud Pier to the top of Arthurs Seat, helped the enthusiastic entrants’ warm-up at the local Primary School before setting them off on the hot Sunday morning.
The challenge was orchestrated to draw attention to premature death and injury of young people as a result of road accidents.
All funds raised from the event, which drew over 1500 people, will go directly to a unique community strategy called Fit to Drive. This program seeks to coordinate all available educational road safety resources and deliver them to young people in year 11 attending secondary colleges on the Mornington Peninsula including Frankston.
