The action was fast and exciting, and in the end St Catherine’s Primary School triumphed in the annual Bega Cup clash with the Collingwood Football Club at Gosch’s Paddock on Monday.The Bega Cup is an Australian rules football competition run for Grades five and six in over 1400 primary schools around Victoria, supported by Bega Cheese and the Collingwood Football Club. As part of the fun of the Bega Cup, Collingwood takes on a Primary School in a full scale match each year.This year St Catherine’s from Melton South earned the right to take on the might of the black and white, and although the Magpies rallied late, the school children came out victorious.The match was contested over 15-minute halves, and the final score read:St Catherine’s 2.6 (18)Collingwood 1.4 (10)
