Key defender Kyle Hartigan is set to be recalled for Sunday's clash with West Coast at Domain Stadium. Hartigan made a successful comeback from a hamstring injury in the SANFL last weekend. Winger Paul Seedsman was best on ground for the second week in a row with 33 disposals. Experienced defender Kyle Cheney had 23 disposals after missing the past two games through suspension, while forward Troy Menzel kicked three goals to push his claims. - Lee Gaskin
With the team in such good form over recent weeks, it's hard to see too many changes for the wooden spoon battle against North Melbourne on Saturday. Impressive first-year midfielder Jarrod Berry has a nagging foot problem that has kept him out the past two weeks the club is hoping he might be able to overcome. - Michael Whiting
NAB AFL Rising Star nominee David Cuningham made a solid return from an ankle injury in the Northern Blues' win over Werribee last Saturday. Cuningham had 20 disposals, while Nick Graham returned from a two-game suspension to impress with 24 disposals and three goals, two of which come in the last quarter when the match was in the balance. Rhys Palmer continued his strong VFL form with 25 disposals. The Blues also hope to regain Caleb Marchbank after missing the past two games with an arm injury. - Howard Kotton
The Pies will regain Brodie Grundy (suspension) and likely Tyson Goldsack (general soreness), while Alex Fasolo (shoulder) remains a possibility for the final-round clash with Melbourne on Saturday. Coach Nathan Buckley said on Saturday that Daniel Wells was unlikely to return. Exciting medium-sized forward Kayle Kirby, 18, will come into contention for a much-awaited debut after escaping suspension in the VFL. The equal leading goalkicker in the VFL with 42 in 16 games, Kirby kicked a game-high three majors in Collingwood's five-point VFL loss to Geelong on Saturday. Big man Lachie Keeffe slotted two goals and was also among the best-performed Pies in their reserves, while defender Jackson Ramsay was the held-over emergency. - Ben Collins

Travis Colyer seems an obvious replacement for Josh Green, who is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a suspected fractured foot in the Bombers' win over Gold Coast. Colyer was dropped after a dip in his form in recent weeks. Ben Howlett could also come in if the Bombers are looking to bring in some forward pressure. Michael Hurley is considered a chance to come back after missing last week with a calf injury, while the retiring Jobe Watson is also expected to return to face Fremantle after being rested against the Suns. - Callum Twomey
The Dockers are coming off consecutive 104-point beltings and don't have many fit numbers in reserve to choose from for the final round trip to face Essendon. Star midfielder Lachie Neale could be available but is no certainty after missing the thumping from Richmond due to groin soreness he has carried all year, while Tommy Sheridan will be hoping for a recall for his first AFL game since round 16 after picking up 23 touches and laying nine tackles for Peel. Garrick Ibbotson (19 disposals) hasn't been able to get a senior game since round 10 but is another in the wings, although the Dockers could be keen to get a look at rookie defender Taylin Duman first. Ruckman Jonathon Griffin looks set to return to the line-up for youngster Sean Darcy, who has been offered a one-match ban by the Match Review Panel for striking, while key backman Sam Collins and Danyle Pearce are available if required. - Travis King
Tom Hawkins will come back in after serving his two-match suspension and leads the list of inclusions with the Cats suffering no reported injuries against Collingwood. Rhys Stanley was close to being available for the clash with the Magpies, despite suffering a calf injury against Richmond, but is a more realistic prospect this week. Jordan Cunico, Darcy Lang and Aaron Black were among the VFL team's best and Tom Ruggles played well in his third game back, while Brandan Parfitt was rested as the AFL team's emergency and could be recalled. - Jennifer Phelan

As has been the case most weeks for the past two months, Gary Ablett will have to pass a fitness test on his dodgy hamstring and is a small chance to return for the final round against Port Adelaide on Saturday night. Don't expect it though. Alex Sexton and Jack Bowes might also return for one final match after being omitted for the loss against Essendon. - Michael Whiting
The Giants will regain veteran Steve Johnson for Saturday night's crucial clash with former team Geelong at Simonds Stadium, with the star forward fresh after a week off to rest his troublesome knee. Big man Rory Lobb could also come into the team after missing last week's win over West Coast with groin/hamstring tightness, if he can have a strong week on the track and get through unscathed. Coach Leon Cameron won't be making many changes as his team attempts to seal their spot in the top two, but with the club's injury list shortening by the week, he has plenty of options. After being dropped last week, Matthew Kennedy had 37 possessions and six tackles in the NEAFL, while Tim Taranto had 30 touches, six tackles and kicked a goal in his return from a serious ankle injury. Fellow draftee Will Setterfield also starred with 31 disposals and 10 tackles, with Sam Reid, Tendai Mzungu, Harry Perryman and Daniel Lloyd others in the selection frame. - Adam Curley
The Hawks were pretty poor for the most part in their seven-point loss to Carlton on Saturday, but there are likely to be minimal changes for the season finale – and Luke Hodge farewell extravaganza – against the Western Bulldogs on Friday night. Vice-captain Liam Shiels missed with a hip injury last week and should return, and there may be a temptation to take a look at emerging defender Harry Morrison before the end of the season, but there won't be wholesale changes ahead of a game the club really wants to win. - Ashley Browne

Melbourne will again closely monitor co-captain Jack Viney's fitness after the star midfielder hurt his foot in the Demons' win over St Kilda a fortnight ago. Coach Simon Goodwin said Viney was a week-to-week proposition and more will be known on his status later in the week. Goodwin has a few decisions to make, with Christian Salem, Jack Watts, Sam Frost and Tomas Bugg all pushing their cases. Salem is available to play after missing last week's VFL game through suspension. Watts spent time through the midfield and up forward, gathering 20 disposals, 12 marks and kicking one goal in Casey's 24-point win over Williamstown. Frost's defensive efforts won praise, while Bugg had 24 touches and 12 tackles after returning from a six-week suspension. Corey Maynard (20 disposals and 13 tackles), Jay Kennedy-Harris (22 disposals and 19 tackles) and Ben Kennedy, last week's carryover emergency, are the others who might come into the selection equation. – Ben Guthrie
It's anyone's guess who makes the Roos' 22 for the all-important clash with the Brisbane Lions, with a mounting injury list and all sorts of 50-50 scenarios. Jarrad Waite (calf) should go close to playing his 11th game of the year after missing the past three rounds. But it seems unlikely North would risk Mason Wood (calf) or Corey Wagner (ankle), who haven't played since rounds 15 and 17, respectively. There is also varied doubts about Aaron Mullett (calf), Todd Goldstein (scratched eyeball/knee), Jack Ziebell (foot), Dan Nielson (concussion), Braydon Preuss (shoulder), Cam Zurhaar (back) and first-year draftees Nick Larkey and Josh Williams. Any opportunities that open may go to second-year swingman Ben McKay – who is yet to make his debut, but has impressed in the VFL – and midfielder Jed Anderson. Could veterans Lachie Hansen and Lindsay Thomas get a look in? Coach Brad Scott said last week he was not considering handing out farewell games. – Marc McGowan
Utility Jackson Trengove did everything he could to earn a recall for Saturday night's clash with Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval. Trengove booted four goals to go with 24 disposals in the SANFL last weekend. Key defender Jack Hombsch could fill the shoes of Tom Jonas while he serves a two-game suspension. Jasper Pittard (calf) will also be in consideration if he passes a fitness test this week. Aaron Young (30 disposals, three goals) and Brendon Ah Chee (25 disposals, two goals) also starred in Port Adelaide's 71-point win over Norwood. - Lee Gaskin

Forward Sam Lloyd, who has played eight games this season, racked up a massive 50 possessions and booted four goals in the VFL, but there are no obvious candidates to make way after a 104-point thumping of Fremantle on Sunday. Midfielder Anthony Miles also racked up 45 possessions in the VFL win over Sandringham to push his case. The other conundrum at selection will be with ruckman Shaun Hampson, who had 21 hit-outs to go with his two goals in his second game back from a long-term back injury, opening the possibility of a two-ruck structure at AFL level. Tall forward Ben Griffiths and defender Reece Conca will likely require more time at VFL level after returning from injury in the state league. Josh Caddy will need one more week on the sidelines to recover from a hamstring injury. – Nathan Schmook
With Sam Gilbert expected to miss Sunday afternoon's clash with Richmond at the MCG as he deals with an abdominal strain, Brandon White will probably fill the hole in the backline. Jack Lonie racked up 33 disposals and two goals in the VFL as Sandringham was thumped by 70 points against Richmond over the weekend, while rookie Nick O'Kearney finished with 30 himself to continue what has been a consistent season. Ben Long is available after suspension but by the time the clash with the Tigers rolls around, he won't have played at any level for three weeks. – Dinny Navaratnam
Ruckman Sam Naismith has recovered from a hip injury that has cost him the past three matches and will be fit to be selected for Saturday's game against Carlton. In his absence, Kurt Tippett and Callum Sinclair have been solid working in tandem, so it leaves coach John Longmire with some thinking to do ahead of the Blues clash, with the finals a fortnight away. Tippett has been impressive with his aggression so it could come down to a contest between Naismith and Sinclair as to who Longmire uses as the team's second ruck/forward. Midfielder Nic Newman could also be a chance to return after he was an unlucky omission last week when skipper Josh Kennedy returned from a hamstring injury. The Swans clinched the minor premiership in the NEAFL on Saturday so have a bye this week before their finals begin, with Jordan Dawson, Harry Cunningham, Aliir Aliir, James Rose, Jordan Foote, Harry Marsh and Jeremy Laidler all in good touch should a spot in the senior team open up. - Adam Curley
Veteran Mark LeCras has missed the past two games due to a hamstring but the out-of-contract forward should be back in the mix. Could it be his farewell game alongside retiring Brownlow medallists Matt Priddis and Sam Mitchell? Willie Rioli went goalless for East Perth after booting four majors the previous round, however the exciting small forward had 20 touches and nine inside 50s in the Royals' loss to Perth and might be a chance to debut and boost the Eagles' firepower. Sharrod Wellingham racked up 34 touches and eight inside 50s for East Perth after being dropped, while defenders Jackson Nelson and Will Schofield are also available if required to tackle the Crows' potent forward line. Tom Lamb was the travelling emergency for the Giants loss and will be in the mix again for his first game since round one, 2015. - Travis King

Forward Jake Stringer will miss Friday night's clash with Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium with a hamstring injury sustained in the loss to Port Adelaide. With Luke Beveridge needing to replace Stringer, and the club's premiership defence all but over, will he give retiring club great Matthew Boyd a farewell game? The two-time All Australian, who is 35 on Sunday, has been serviceable at state league level, and deserves a chance to say goodbye to the fans. Tom Boyd made an encouraging return from his mental health battles with a three-goal performance in the VFL, but the key forward will likely remain with Footscray. Draftee Patrick Lipinski is a strong chance to make a much-deserved debut after displaying excellent form in the VFL this season. The Northern Knights product, who had 32 disposals on the weekend, is a classy midfielder who wins his own ball and is strong overhead. Ruckman Tom Campbell made an impressive return from an abdominal concern, collecting 35 hit-outs, 18 disposals and a goal. Midfielder Lukas Webb continued his strong state league form with 30 disposals, while Mitch Honeychurch (three goals) and Clay Smith (25 possessions) were also prominent. - Ryan Davidson
