BRISBANE coach Leigh Matthews has opted for two unforced changes in his team to take on Melbourne at the Gabba on Sunday. Troy Selwood and Ashley McGrath have both been omitted, while Colm Begley is out of the team with a quad injury.

James Polkinghorne from the Calder Cannons will make his debut for the Lions. Lachlan Henderson comes back into the team and Scott Harding has also forced his way back for his first match of 2008.

Selwood has been named as an emergency along with Tom Collier and Brad Dalziell.

Melbourne have made two changes from the side that was comprehensively beaten by Carlton last week. Skipper David Neitz will miss the next eight weeks with a neck injury and Matthew Whelan is out for one week due to a suspension.

Brad Miller will bolster the Demons after returning from his own week ban and will be joined in the team by Colin Garland who has been named on the bench.

Matthew Warnock, Matthew Bate and Simon Buckley have been named as emergencies.

North Melbourne will go into their critical clash with the Swans without the services of hardman Leigh Brown who broke his hand in last Saturday's thrilling victory over Collingwood. Daniel Pratt is also out after unsuccessfully contesting his one week ban for rough play.

Jess Sinclair plays his first match for 2008 with Scott Thompson to make his second appearance for the club. The Kangaroos' emergencies are Andrew Swallow, Lachlan Hansen and Eddie Sansbury.

For the Swans, Luke Brennan and Nicholas Smith have been omitted from the team which came so close, if only for a little while, to Geelong last week. Smith made his debut against the Cats and makes way for another first-gamer in Jesse White from Southport.

Tadgh Kennelly also returns for the Swans after overcoming hamstring problems. Brennan and Smith have been joined by Ben Mathews as emergencies for the North Melbourne match.

The Hawks are flying and with competition fierce for a spot in the unbeaten team, Ben McGlynn has managed to force his way in at the expense of Tim Clarke. McGlynn has been named on the bench and will play his first match for Hawthorn in 2008.

Richmond have made no changes to the team that allowed the Western Bulldogs to sneak a draw in the dying seconds of last week's match.

Veteran Joel Bowden has been named as an emergency for the match, along with Daniel Jackson and Andrew Collins.
