RICHMOND has launched County Court action against a club sponsor for $100,000 in unpaid fees and additional damages.
The Tigers are suing Metro Solar after the Gippsland-based company allegedly failed to pay more than half of its agreed sponsorship payments for 2015.
The club filed a writ in the County Court last week demanding the company pay $100,000, which has allegedly been owing since October last year.
Richmond is also seeking damages for a breach of an agreement by Metro Solar to pay $185,000 in sponsorship cash for the 2016 season.
Richmond declined to comment when contacted by AFL.com.au on Wednesday.
Metro Solar's lawyer Ben Skinner said on Wednesday that his client would be defending Richmond's claim and issuing its own counterclaim.
