From Tuesday 17 June, some of Melbourne’s most iconic faces appeared in Bourke Street’s Myer windows, posing for quirky local artist Anthony Breslin as part of the Signature of M project.

Stars from the stage, screen and sporting arena were immortalised in art as Breslin painted their silhouettes to capture the essence of Melbourne’s identity. The project seeks to raise much needed funds for the AFL Ladder Project, which aims to provide affordable housing to those in need.

One of Australia’s most original, eclectic and evocative artists, Anthony Breslin filled the silhouettes with images encapsulating his subjects’ personalities and lifestyles.

Iconic football personality Ron Barassi was the first personality striking a pose, followed by singer Vanessa Amorosi on Wednesday 18 June, music guru Molly Meldrum on Saturday 21 June and Network Ten’s news presenter Helen Kapalos on Monday 23 June.

The event is an initiative by the Signature of M project, an art competition which seeks to draw together Melbourne’s artistic and business communities in order to create a true artistic representation of our cultural city. With a prize pool topping $180,000, the Signature of M project has attracted involvement from some of the nation’s most progressive and esteemed artistic talent.

The five completed works are being auctioned on www.melbourneisunforgettable.com.au with all proceeds going to the AFL Ladder Project.
