THE ROUND has already begun, but if you didn't get involved in last night's Geelong and Port Adelaide clash from a Draftstars perspective, there's still plenty to come.
Here is this week's cheat sheet with everything you need to know for the remaining eight games. For more information visit draftstars.com.au.
Sydney v Hawthorn, SCG, Friday night
Dan Hannebery (MID, $16,150) is back, and in a big way. The Sydney star started his season in some poor form for his lofty standards, but his average is now at 101 after a huge 159-point effort in last week's win over St Kilda. Jake Lloyd (MID, $15,100) might not have the profile of Hannebery, but he's averaging 104 for the Swans and has proved his consistency.
Nic Newman (DEF, $14,000) is another Swan you need to consider for one of your backline spots. The emerging defender has shown an ability to find the ball and last week picked up 113 points. He has averaged 92 in his six senior games this season, and is worth a look.
Former Swans midfielder Tom Mitchell (MID, $19,000) is worth more than a look – he's worth every cent. His landmark 50-disposal game last week saw him pile on 177 Draftstars points. He's the leading scorer in the competition and despite his hefty price tag, he's a guarantee.
Second-year Hawk Ryan Burton (FWD, $11,800) has been excellent this season and may come into your thinking given his 86-point average, while Liam Shiels (MID, $12,850) has averaged 93 the past three weeks, so is a solid choice at a reasonable price.
Western Bulldogs v St Kilda, Etihad Stadium, Saturday
It's mildly surprising the Dogs don't have a player in the top 30 scorers this season, with Marcus Bontempelli (MID, $13,750) the best-ranked at No.34, averaging 103 points. If you're keen to steer clear of the 'Bont' for some other Dogs, then Jack Macrae (MID, $13,500) should be of interest. He scored just 76 last week, but it was the first time he had dropped below 92 this season.
Mitch Wallis (MID, $12,150) should also be on the radar. In his first game since that horror broken leg last year, the Bulldogs midfielder gathered 97 points against Geelong last week. He should only get better. Tom Boyd (FWD/RK, $10,050) was the leading Bulldog last week with 117 points, but that was almost double his average of 63 – so be wary selecting him in your Draftstars line-up.
Jack Steele (MID/FWD, $13,200) has been a good pick-up for the Saints and would be a good choice in the daily fantasy world, too. The former Giant has averaged 92.6 this season, and last week collected 104 points as one of the better players in his side's loss to Sydney.
Jack Billings (FWD, $14,350) continued his hot run with his third straight triple-figure score, Seb Ross (MID, $14,200) showed his quality with 135 points, and Dylan Roberton (DEF, $13,650) continued to stay atop the Saints' rankings with another 121 points. In his first game of the season, Daniel McKenzie (MID, $10,900) gathered 96 points, and is one to keep an eye on while he's cheap.
Melbourne v Gold Coast, Traeger Park Alice Springs, Saturday
We hope you've been listening to our advice on Cam Pedersen (FWD/RK, $12,600) in the past month. Last week the stand-in Melbourne ruckman gathered a team-high 120 points, lifting his average to 102 for the season. He continues to show he should be in consideration for your ruck position.
Former Bomber Michael Hibberd (DEF, $13,350) has also been in excellent form with 106 points in last week's loss to North Melbourne, while Clayton Oliver's (MID, $13,300) average of 107 points puts him among the competition's elite. Bernie Vince (MID, $11,100) has been a little disappointing this year and is averaging just 76. Other Dees are ahead of him.
The Suns should hit the ground running after a week's rest. Aaron Hall (MID, $14,700) is the best bet from the Suns with Gary Ablett out injured; Hall is capable of the brilliant, and has averaged 105 points this season.
As experienced recruits, ex-Crow Jarryd Lyons (MID, $13,800) and former Docker Michael Barlow (FWD/MID, $14,650) haven't let the Suns down this year. Lyons has averaged 94, and Barlow is also going well with an average of 92 points. Lyons would give your midfield a point of difference as he is not a popular choice.
Richmond v Essendon, MCG, Saturday night
As talk continues to centre on his future, Dustin Martin (MID, $15,300) clearly isn't letting the speculation get to him. The star midfielder had 122 points against Greater Western Sydney last week, his best score since round five against Melbourne.
Toby Nankervis' (RK/FWD, $13,200) form in the ruck shows no sign of slowing after another very good effort last week with 98 points, while Shaun Grigg (MID, $14,150) is a consistent Richmond choice who just always seems to find the ball.
Zach Merrett (MID, $17,350) does the same for the Bombers, but just finds it a fair bit more. He's averaging 127 this season and is second in the competition for total points scored. David Zaharakis (MID, $14,550) rewarded those who believed his game against Geelong wasn't a one-off with 137 points against West Coast.
We have said for a while that Joe Daniher (FWD, $12,600) is a strong choice in attack, and he booted five goals to go with his 94 points last week. Brendon Goddard (MID, $15,250) has hit triple figures six times this year. His form is going under the radar, but he remains a Draftstars gun.
Adelaide v Fremantle, Adelaide Oval, Saturday night
You can't keep a good player down. That was the case for Rory Sloane (MID, $14,350), who last week followed two scores in the 60s in rounds 7-8 with a 111-point effort against the Brisbane Lions. The Lions are struggling, but Sloane's showing for the Crows will restore Draftstars coaches' confidence in choosing him.
Tom Lynch (FWD, $11,950) was excellent in attack for Adelaide with 119 points – the second-best total of his season – and Rory Atkins (MID, $12,400) continues to show he can pull out a big score above his 86-point average. Atkins gathered 111 points last week, the third time this year he has gone past 100.
A couple of the Dockers' younger brigade continue to shine and are worth your consideration. Connor Blakely (MID, $13,200) is one, given his huge 134-point total last week against Carlton. He can find the ball, lay a tackle and has always been a big possession-winner.
Lachie Weller's (FWD/DEF, $9900) form has also spiked in recent weeks, with the speedy half-back finding a season-high 92 points last week. If you're looking for more of a sure thing than Weller, Michael Walters (FWD, $13,600) could be your man. He has averaged 114 over the past three weeks, so is in a rich run of form.
Collingwood v Brisbane Lions, MCG, Sunday
Scott Pendlebury's (MID, $15,750) standout game last week against Hawthorn saw him attain 144 points, but he wasn't the only Pie to dominate, with seven players scoring 109 or more. Pendlebury and Adam Treloar (MID, $15,400) are the most reliable.
Ruckman Brodie Grundy (RK, $14,350) has had an excellent season with an average of 106.7 points, while NAB AFL Rising Star nominee Tom Phillips' (FWD/MID, $11,100) average of 74.8 is solid for a player of his price. He gathered 90 points last week.
Grundy will come up against another high-scoring ruckman in Brisbane Lions big man Stefan Martin (RK, $15,150). Martin has averaged 112 points a game this season in an outstanding campaign.
His midfield, consisting of Dayne Beams (MID, $14,600), Dayne Zorko (MID, $16,100) and Ryan Lester (MID, $11,050), have benefited. Beams top-scored for the Lions last week with 144 points. It's slim pickings for the Lions beyond those names with Tom Rockliff out injured.
Carlton v North Melbourne, Etihad Stadium, Sunday
There's a plethora of in-form ruckmen to choose from at the moment, and Matthew Kreuzer (RK, $13,650) is in that bracket. The Carlton No.1 pick gathered 119 points last week against Fremantle, and is averaging only a pinch under triple figures this year (99.8 points a game). He's worth serious consideration.
Ed Curnow (MID, $12,600) might not get the wraps of other Draftstars mainstays from the Blues, but he can find a good score, and last week collected 116 points. It wouldn't be a Carlton game without mentioning Bryce Gibbs (MID, $15,100) and Sam Docherty (DEF, $15,300). Gibbs' 133 points last week pushed him into the top 25 in the competition, while Docherty is in the top 10.
Ben Brown (FWD, $9700) continues to cause chaos for opposition backlines, and last week booted five goals and found 90 points. He would be one to consider as a forward, but his average is only 72, so don't expect huge things.
Last week was a good one for the young Roos, as Luke McDonald (DEF, $10,800), Kayne Turner (FWD, $10,650) and Nathan Hrovat (FWD, $11,400) all produced scores in the 90s – all three of them have averaged in the 70s so far this season. They should be on the radar, as should another ruckman, star Roo Todd Goldstein (RK, $15,050). It was a solid afternoon for the All Australian last week against Melbourne, with 148 points and 61 hit-outs.
West Coast v Greater Western Sydney, Domain Stadium, Sunday
Which West Coast turns up in round 10? The fact the Eagles are at home suggests it might be a better showing than the putrid effort they put in against Essendon last Sunday. Not one Eagle hit triple figures last week, but Andrew Gaff (MID, $14,600) was closest with 95 points. He remains the best bet from a West Coast perspective.
Jack Darling (FWD, $10,700) could have had a much better day had he kicked straight and he managed 92 points, but his average of 69 makes you think a triple-figure score would have been an anomaly. Watch for Elliot Yeo (FWD/MID, $14,200) to bounce back after his 81-point effort last week – which was well down on his 106 average.
Lachie Whitfield (MID, $13,000) is a Giant worth having in your side. Others might take the eye first, but Whitfield's first two games back from suspension have been sensational and he's averaged 101 points in the past fortnight. His hard running makes him a consistent scorer from start to finish.
Youngster Tim Taranto (FWD/MID, $10,100) has averaged a solid 73 over the past three weeks – reasonable for his price – while Josh Kelly (MID, $15,150) keeps on keeping on. He is ranked 19th overall in the AFL for total points. Tom Scully (MID, $12,500) and Heath Shaw (DEF, $13,200) both struggled last week by scoring 68 points each – well down on their averages in the 80s.
