The Western Bulldogs, as one of the 18 clubs of the Australian Football League (AFL) and situated in the fastest growing region of Australia, is breaking new ground in delivering sustainable, high level performance. We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Fundraising Manager. This newly created position will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer

You will be responsible for helping create and implement the strategy relating to a micro donation fundraising initiative and all other fundraising activities across the Club and will play a significant role in ensuring that the Club vision will be achieved.  In support of this objective the Fundraising Manager will be tasked with providing key management to ensure fundraising and other commercial outcomes across The Forever Foundation, Bequest Program and various other initiatives, are capitalized on and, where necessary, revitalized.

The Fundraising Manager is a specialised role and will include the following duties:

  • Create and implement the strategy relating to a micro donation fundraising initiative and all other fundraising activities across the Club
  • Work in collaboration with all internal stakeholders for review of current fundraising activities and then develop and implement key fundraising strategies for the Western Bulldogs
  • Identify prospective donors and funding sources, in conjunction with the Board and Leadership Team, and develop cultivation and solicitation plans, involving key stakeholders as appropriate
  • Regular communication and relationships with donors, including re-solicitations, proper acknowledgement of gifts and pledge payments, reporting, visiting and providing regular information on the progress of the Club
  • Prepare and maintain a master plan of fundraising priorities for the Western Bulldogs

This role will contribute at a strategic level whilst retaining a “hands on” leadership and support approach to ensure that all programs can deliver their results

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • A degree in marketing, commerce or a related discipline;
  • Experience in developing a micro-donation program as well as other commercial revenue streams (including traditional fundraising);
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • An ability and passion to develop and drive commercial outcomes;
  • An ability to manage multiple projects and lead people.

This role is required to have flexible working hours, including some nights and weekend work. In particular you are expected to attend Western Bulldogs home games and events.
