Ben Cousins was discharged from The Epworth Hospital late this afternoon.

He was admitted yesterday after suffering abdominal pain and cramping.

As a precaution tests were carried out during the course of the day.

“Ben was found to be suffering from a slight gastric inflammation,” Richmond General Manager of Football Craig Cameron said.

“He will rest up over the weekend and he will be back at training on Monday,” Cameron said.

Richmond midfielder Ben Cousins was admitted to the Epworth Hospital earlier today suffering from abdominal pain.

Cousins will remain in hospital overnight for observation and will undergo tests in the morning after he has fasted.

“Ben’s condition does not appear serious but as a precautionary measure we would like some tests done to see what the problem is,” Richmond General Manager of Football Craig Cameron said.

“It is doubtful that Ben will play against Essendon in the NAB Challenge match in Morwell on Saturday.” he said.
