MONDAY
I head into the Club at around 9am to get my body checked out with the physios. I pass with flying colours and am told that my body is still in pretty good nick.

After all the boys are done at the Club, we headed down to Southbank for a swim. It was freezing cold! Most of the boys were so cold they could only stay in the water for around five minutes. The boys’ lips had almost turned blue by the time we got out.

We were then lucky enough to go and have a beautiful lunch at the Plough Inn. It was a very good feed and we all chatted about how the Aussie soccer team had gone earlier at the World Cup (unfortunately not so good).

The NBA Finals were on and Troy Selwood was right into the game. His eyes couldn’t leave the TV screen. He didn’t want the Lakers to win.

On Monday afternoon we had a review of the Bulldogs’ game which was a bit disappointing. We looked at what we were doing wrong and feel as though we are ready to go and fix those things this week so we can be more competitive against Richmond who are in good form.

Jack Redden, Steve Brdar (a friend who lives in our apartment complex) and I went and watched the Queensland Firebirds play at Southbank. The Firebirds looked good from the first whistle and went on to notch up an easy win. Here’s hoping they can make the finals.

TUESDAY
Tuesday morning was about more recovery and getting the body moving again. We went out onto the Gabba and had a bit of a casual run and kick around.

We have a competition once a month on Tuesday mornings which pits the country boys against the city boys in some little games. We call it ‘City vs Country’. The Country team (who I represent) was undermanned with our leaders Browny and big Goosey Maguire out of action for the mini games. We were very unlucky to lose when X Clarke couldn’t kick the winning goal. City got the points this time around…

Then it was time to watch my tape with Lambos (Craig Lambert) and go over how I can improve things I do throughout the game. I also catch up with Jade (Rawlings) and Fletch (Adrian Fletcher) to get their thoughts on my performance.

To finish the day off at the Club, I get a massage and a bit more physio just to make sure that everything is still in check with my body.

Finally I head to Coles and do our weekly shop. Living with two other young players means that we have to buy plenty of different foods.

WEDNESDAY
Wednesday was a very light day.

We had a weights session in the morning and then do a bit of a stretching to help loosen up the body. By now I am started to feel better after last weekends game.

The boys were given the afternoon off so Jack and I went and did a bit of shopping. He has to help me when it comes to clothes because my dress sense isn’t so great. He is trying to bring me up to standard hence the new haircut I have at the moment. I am still not sure if it really works for me yet.

We have our big training session tomorrow (Thursday) to fine tune ourselves for Saturday night’s big game.
